Meet Mrs Gamar: Early Years Foundation Stage leader

Hello! My name is Mrs Gamar and I am proud to be leading our EYFS Team.

Why I love the Early Years

To be honest, I love the EYFS because children at this age are the most authentic versions of themselves. Their curiosity is infectious, and no two days are ever the same. I am passionate about creating a space where children feel heard and confident enough to take risks, because a child who feels secure is a child who is ready to learn anything.

My ambition for our school

My ambition is to lead a setting that prioritises well-being as the precursor to learning. I envision a space filled with ‘awe and wonder,’ where high-quality adult interactions and a rich, provocative environment empower children to become independent, resilient, and lifelong learners.

We won’t just prepare them for school; we will prepare them for life.

Welcome to Nursery

Welcome to our Nursery, where we create a nurturing and engaging environment for our youngest learners aged 2 to 4 years. Our dedicated nursery team is committed to fostering a love of learning through hands-on experiences that encourage exploration, creativity, and social skills. In our welcoming space, children can thrive, make new friends, and begin their educational journey in a safe and supportive atmosphere.

We believe that every child is unique and learning should be personalised to their interests and individual needs meaning they can develop these interests and flourish. We invite parents to be involved in their child’s nursery experience, and we look forward to partnering with families to help our youngest learners have the best possible start on their educational journey.

Welcome to Reception at Bardfield Academy!

We are excited to welcome you and your child to the start of their school journey. Reception is a year full of discovery, new friendships, and opportunities to learn and grow.

Our curriculum is built around the seven areas of learning and development in the Early Years Foundation Stage: communication and language, physical development, personal, social and emotional development, literacy, mathematics, understanding the world, and expressive arts and design. These areas give children the skills and knowledge they need to make strong progress.

By the end of Reception, our aim is for every child to achieve a Good Level of Development (GLD), ensuring they are well prepared for the transition into Key Stage 1. Above all, we want children to leave Reception with curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning.
