Academy Committee

The Academy Committee meets formally once a term but there are extra opportunities throughout the year to connect with staff and pupils. Monitoring visits help spark useful conversations about the school’s current priorities, listed on the schools rapid improvement plan, allowing committee members to gain a first hand insight into whole school initiatives and issues. These visits also then help them hold leaders to account during committee meetings.

Committee members also spend time with subject leaders, the school’s safeguarding lead (Mr. Archer), other senior leaders and key staff for example the attendance officer. These regular interactions help the committee keep a close eye on progress, be confident that targets are being met, and ensure the school is moving in the right direction.
